SSRT Subtitle Fixer
FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about checking, repairing and downloading subtitle files.

What does SRT Subtitle Fixer check?

It checks common subtitle structure and readability problems including timestamp syntax, cue order, overlaps, gaps, blank cues, line length, reading speed, duration and supported formatting issues.

Does it upload my subtitles?

No. The core workflow is designed to run in your browser. Your subtitle contents are not intentionally sent to a subtitle-processing server.

Which subtitle formats are supported?

SRT and WebVTT are supported for checking and export. VTT files keep their WEBVTT header and timestamp style during export.

Can it repair subtitles automatically?

Yes, selected safe structural fixes can be reviewed before applying them. Depending on the issue, this can include numbering, sorting, timestamp normalization, empty-cue removal, overlap handling, duration fixes and supported formatting cleanup. Always review the exported file before delivery.

What quality profiles are available?

The tool includes General, Netflix-style, Broadcast/BBC-style, YouTube, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and Custom profiles. These are practical presets, not a replacement for a client's exact delivery specification.

Can I create my own QC rules?

Yes. Custom rules let you set limits such as maximum characters per line, maximum characters per second, minimum and maximum duration, and minimum cue gap.

Can I use it on mobile?

Yes. The interface is responsive and designed for touch screens and smaller displays.

Is the tool free?

Yes. The subtitle checker is designed as a free browser-based utility with no required account.
